Getting a Mentor, Gurus and Flying Solo

Yoda MentorBefore I can tell you anything about mentors, gurus and flying solo analogies on your Internet Marketing experiences, I want to let you know a little bit of my background with Online Marketing, not much, just a tad.

First of all, I am still learning everything I can (do we ever stop?) and each day that goes by, does NOT goes by without me learning something new.

Whether is a new cool blog I find, a new strategy to apply, a new guru e-mail list to join… err, no, scratch that last one.

Whatever it is, I focus on not letting one single day go without learning something new.

Simple, right?

Getting Started Online

So fast forward, I started my Internet Marketing adventure a little bit more than one year ago.

I was normally flying solo or in other words, doing my own thing without any direct advice:

  • researching like crazy
  • hopping from program to program
  • joining a new thing every week
  • trying to understand “bizops” (business opportunities)
  • buying businesses in-a-box
  • thinking I was ‘networking’ by adding unknown people to Facebook
  • And a million more etc’s.

All sort of crazy stuff you can imagine.

And God, I was so naive.  Continue Reading →

How To Create Your First Video: Patrick Griffin Interview

Patrick Griffin Interview - Recording Your First Video

Creating your first video shouldn’t be that hard or as bad as you may think.

But have you ever heard the term “practice what you preach” before?

Well, I have and I also happen to understand it quite well.

How can anyone teach something if they’re not doing it themselves first, it doesn’t makes any sense right?

Just to make things more interesting, I am far from being a motivator or an expert on these video creation matters but I can share with you what my experiences were and how I dealt with this whole fear of the camera thing and finally managed to overcome my fears just a week ago!

My first gift ONLY for Subscribers

Patrick Griffin Recording Your First Video

I interviewed Patrick Griffin (Internet Marketer & Journalist from the UK) during my Video Review Challenge.

I honestly was very scared during the initial time of the interview, that I didn’t even let Patrick talk for something like a minute and thirty some seconds afterwards LOL (sorry Pat!)

I still managed to interview Patrick and get some really amazing tips, all of this just for you! Continue Reading →

Overcoming Fear Of Video Creation: 7-Day Challenge Summary

Sergio Felix Bring It On

Hey everyone,

Glad to have you here for this amazing summary post.

I’m going to try to be very brief with this insight because I already wrote a LOT about this experiment.

I don’t think you want to read the whole shenanigans I practically spew into my computer. So let’s cut the chase and jump in already! ;-)

Who is behind Marketing With Sergio?

  • My name’s Sergio Felix
  • I have been studying Internet Marketing for over a year now
  • I’ve never spoke on video before
  • Never used any type of video editing software
  • I was frustrated for not being able to speak on camera
  • And I did not make ONE. SINGLE. VIDEO… EVER in all this time!!

I followed many professionals advice but to no avail since my fear was simply bigger than my drive.

So not too long ago (a few weeks actually) I had this idea of doing something on my own that not only would force me to record myself on camera but to also leave me ashamed in case I actually failed.

If you want to know how it all started you can read more here:  Continue Reading →

[7-day VRC] Day 07: M-Audio Fast Track Pro 4×4 Mobile USB Audio/MIDI Interface with Preamps

M-Audio FastTrack Pro 4x4 Mobile USB Audio MIDI InterfaceThis is the seventh and final post of the 7-Day Video Review Challenge to Overcome Fear of the Camera follow up video series.

Today I am going to review the M-Audio Fast Track Pro 4×4 Mobile USB Audio/MIDI Interface with Preamps.

I want to be short and sweet on this product review since it may not be suitable for the average marketer out there as this item is mostly used by musicians.

Why I Bought The Fast Track Pro

I bought this midi/audio interface as a recording tool and as I am a musician myself I thought that this would be a great investment since I wanted to get rid of all the cable mess I have in my workplace and the bulky mixers laying around.

I have also found that MANY marketers use audio interfaces like this everywhere which have absolutely NOTHING to do with instrument playing so you could benefit from having one of this gems in your workplace.

If you have any XLR mics laying around or in case you actually play an instrument, this is one of the best tools you can use to show your talent to the world!

So without any further ado, let’s jump to video!  Continue Reading →

[7-day VRC] Day 06: Amazon Kindle Keyboard Wi-Fi 6 inches E-Ink Display

Amazon Kindle Keyboard Wi-Fi 6 inch

This is the sixth post of the 7-Day Video Review Challenge to Overcome Fear of the Camera follow up video series.

Today I am going to review the Amazon Kindle Keyboard Wi-Fi Reader.

This is the first product review that won’t let you create something per se (at least not that I know!).

It’s actually more of a resource for you to that can have many different purposes depending on what your reading habits are of course.

Importance Of Reading

We as internet marketers, writers, bloggers, entrepreneurs and everything else that comes to mind, understand the importance of reading.

We read blogs, reports, books and are always in constant reading mode not just to learn new stuff but for leisure, for relaxing, for resting our eyes from the computer screen, etc.

Well the Amazon Kindle has been revolutionizing the reading industry and it’s no wonder why Amazon decided to jump on-board with their own creation.  Continue Reading →

[7-day VRC] Day 05: Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet Review

Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet Review

This is the fifth post of the 7-Day Video Review Challenge to Overcome Fear of the Camera follow up video series.

Today I am going to review the Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet.

First things first, I am far from being a graphic designer.

But I knew that for graphic creation I wanted to get something that felt a little bit more natural and comfortable than drawing with a mouse.

Why You Should Get A Pen Tablet

On a meeting with a friend of mine that makes a living as a graphic designer, he told me that doing graphics with a mouse would be the same as trying to draw with a brick.

To me, it did make perfect sense (and it also made me laught a bit) but what do you think about that?

Anyway, I don’t think I ever designed cool stuff before, I did make some logos and pretty simple basic stuff and honestly I think I never realized before that I was drawing with a brick OR a mouse!

If you’re asking why could I possibly be interested in such a device like a pen tablet, well it’s mainly because the endless possibilities that it will provide for your marketing needs.  Continue Reading →
