Build A Computer From Scratch

Sergio Felix Modded ComputerI decided to write a follow up post about the new computer.

This is mainly because you guys got interested in knowing some extra things about it and I didn’t want to ruin the last post by modifying it that much.

So here’s a little mention love:

Patrick Griffin told me on twitter that he wanted to know all the gory details of the geeky stuff involved with the new computer.

Justin Ledvina wanted to know how much did it actually cost to build this computer.

Linda Bond got interested in knowing more about the video camera and the new computer’s price.

And last but not least important…

Daniel Sumner who suggested a testing experiment to see the performance of the new system by running a few programs simultaneously.

So without any futher ado, let’s jump right to it.  Continue Reading →

New Custom Built PC

Sergio Felix's ComputerI finally did it.

I just finished building the new computer.

It is not a super computer but O.M.G. this PC could practically fly if it had wings.

Well… maybe not but still, is a pretty darn good computer.

And the best of all, is that I feel so happy that I can only laugh (in joy) at my situation right now but it wasn’t like that a few days ago…

The Computer Problem

There is always a time when you can only work as fast as your computer allows you to.

You open an application or save a project, even render a video production, all regular tasks for an Internet Marketer right?

Well if you have to wait for insane amounts of time for each of these common tasks to complete, then you can be potentially missing out a lot on your creativity/productivity times.

You may be even losing a bit more than just great ideas in the process.

All because of a slow computer.

Decluttering Time

unclutteringIt’s decluttering time baby!

I have been going around in circles for some days.

Going back and forth switching from Thesis to Genesis themes and viceversa.

I’s a really long boring story but it has a goal in the end, trust me.

Digital Nomads

I have been reading a lot of stuff about digital nomadism lately and I mean some massive reading on the subject.

Topics on how to live a more meaningful life with less things and all that stuff that sounds so hippie-related in our XXI century.

Quick out of place disclaimer…

If the first thing that springs to mind is a 1960′s hippie whenever you read digital nomad I have the same exact impression as you do but apparently it has nothing to do with that, it’s just the new age entrepreneural life.

These guys (digital nomads) can do a lot of stuff I really don’t think I would ever be capable of.

Thank God It’s Monday

Yay for Mondays!

I have Dan Miller’s book “No More Dreaded Mondays” but I haven’t read it yet…

Do you want to know why?

Work.

Not Knowing When To Stop Working

I think I have been working way too much lately.

Won’t get into much details but the consequences of this are that I gained a lot of weight, I suddenly can’t sleep, I can’t seem to get anything done, I feel tired all the time and sometimes I even feel I can’t breathe.

It has become that bad (and embarrassing too).

The worst of all, is that even though I think I’m “working a lot” it is not showing off on the front-end of anything I’m doing.

So I took a quick time out to look at myself from a different perspective and I think I may have found the problem (or the solution more likely).  Continue Reading →

Big Curves Ahead

This is actually the sixth article I write for TODAY’s post.

I have THAT much of information to share with you but I think this one is the most important so keep reading!

While I just realized I love the fact of writing on a blog, I think it is very important to have our goals well defined and to work towards accomplishing them.

This doesn’t mean I’m shutting down the blog, at all.

It just means that I’m going to treat it like what it is, a marketing blog and nothing else.

I have several other domain names where you will be able to follow me (if you choose to) on a more personal level and I will give the links to them right here if you decide to check them out at a latter time.

Right now I don’t feel Marketing With Sergio is the right place to write about personal stuff so I’m changing a little bit the tone here to focus more on helping YOU out on the technical aspects of marketing that I do know a bit about and move on to the personal level on other blogs.

I hope that’s ok with you.

With that said, I apologize in advance for treating this place (MarketingWithSergio.com) like anything but a marketing blog in the past but…

Not all is lost though…

This change is due to the ridiculous overwhelming amount of marketing blogs that I have seen out there.  Continue Reading →

Fail Rollercoaster

sergio felix rollercoasterWoot!

Yesterday was a fail rollercoaster left and right and boy was that an interesting day.

It all started pretty good, I had plans to de-clutter my workplace, my external hard drives and leave everything set and ready for the big day.

The Upgrade

Turns out I bought some computer hardware from Amazon like two weeks ago for the new computer rig I have been working on.

computer almost ready

New Computer Almost Ready To Go

My main computer died on me not too long ago so I needed something else to work with and decided to build a new computer from scratch.

Right now I have a crappy desktop computer and an old Macbook.

I really can’t use these computers for anything that requires some decent processing power.

And by ‘anything’ I mean basic stuff like video recording, video editing and all those tasks that are required in order for you to create a quality product to sell.  Continue Reading →
