USB Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910 Review

Ok this is the third post of the 7-Day Video Review Challenge to Overcome Fear of the Camera follow up video series.

Today I am reviewing the USB Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920.

As I told you in my previous post about the USB Blue Snowball Microphone Review, we all know that audio and video sells.

So if you’re not already taking part of this, then you may have been leaving a lot of money on the table without even knowing.

Internet Marketing Trends

With all the latest trends about Internet Marketers having their own

  • marketing talk shows
  • appearing live on webinars
  • doing intense online interviews
  • spreecasts, hangouts, etc

Jump On Board!

It is only common sense that you need to jump on this wagon as soon as you can.

If you have been following these video series, you may recall my first review post was about another video camera, the Flipcam Video UltraHD.

So why am I reviewing yet another USB camera? Just continue reading!

Webcam vs Postable Camera

The main difference between these two cameras, besides being able to record HD video are that the Flipcam is portable and the USB Logitech camera is not.

The Flipcam works by itself.

While the Logitech camera works with your computer, it’s only a webcam after all.

Here are a few of their uses so you can understand this a little bit better (and because I suck at explaining this):

Flipcam Common Uses

The Flipcam is great for:

  • whiteboard how to’s
  • live physical interviews (both persons in the same room)
  • right on the spot recordings
  • trips, vacations
  • conferences
  • concerts
  • recording yourself on the Eiffel tower… (I did that lol)
  • etc

Logitech Common Uses

The Logitech C920 HD Pro is great for:

  • live webinars
  • skype calls
  • live online chats
  • creating screencasts (perfect sync with desktop recording)
  • recording how to’s
  • etc

So if you can already see the difference let’s start with this already.

Why I Bought The Logitech C920 HD Pro

I decided to buy the Logitech C920 camera because I want to start doing screencasts, webinars, how-to videos but most important…

Looking good whenever someone decides to interview me on Skype!

As you can see, the possibilities are practically ENDLESS for both types.

If you were waiting for my video review, then let’s get it on with the nitty gritty!

Introduction (video shot on a Flipcam)

Follow up (video STILL shot on a Flipcam)

Audio and Video entirely shot with Logitech C920 HD Pro Camera on 720p Resolution

Audio and Video entirely shot with Logitech C920 HD Pro Camera on 1080p Resolution

Note: The “next video” is a special follow up surprise that I will publish tomorrow.

This WON’T affect the challenge as I plan to stick to my word as I always do.

Conclusion

I want to thank everyone who has been RTing this content on twitter, publishing about it on their blogs and being supporting me all the way over Skype and other social media channels.

It has been very tough to keep up with this challenge but with this insane support that I have been given lately, it’s impossible that I’m going to stop any time soon, thanks a lot everyone, I really mean it! ;-)

See you tomorrow with another great review!

Sergio

    Hi Sergio.

First of all even before I look at a single video or read a single word, I can tell that this is a post of some considerable substance. It just looks good in terms of layout and design.

When new marketers ask for advice about how to approach making videos I always tell them that the most important thing is for them to just be themselves and to resist the temptation to put on some sort of act for the camera.

Some people are themselves right up until the moment that the red ‘record’ lamp comes on and then they switch to news presenter mode and as a result their videos are somewhat disappointing.

You, on the other hand, give your viewers the real Sergio and this will be key to your success.

Also the main focus, in fact the entire focus of your video reports is to educate the viewer with your thoughts and feelings on the product and this also makes your work instantly watchable. You don’t suddenly switch to affiliate salesman mode and this will be another key to your success.

Finally when you get nervous you do odd things like unexpectedly clapping your hands but don’t be tempted to edit out moments like that because this is your style and allows people to get to know you more as a person.

So three days in you are still a little nervous in front of the camera but given by the amount of times you managed to smile in all four videos I would suggest you are considerably less nervous and stressed than you were just 24 hours ago.

It is clear you are putting in a serious amount of work to produce this great content for us so it is little wonder that you are continuing to pick up new followers in the process.

Well done in taking the action necessary to get yourself noticed.

Are you sure you would not like to make this a 14-day challenge instead?

    Patrick.

P.S. Your quote: “Read The Fantastic Manual” – Brilliant!

      Hey Patrick,

Thanks a lot for another amazing comment of yours!

You bring a very interesting point, switching to the “news presenter mode” as soon as people start recording… in all honesty, I don’t even think I could manage to do something like that.

I’m a VERY expressive person and really, I would be a TERRIBLE actor if I had to pretend to be someone I’m not! LOL

The reviews I have been publishing lately basically have two main purposes:

      1. Show what I use or will use for my Internet Marketing needs.
      2. Make me overcome the fear of the camera.

      And for the unintentional purpose:
      3. Encourage others to record themselves on camera.

About being nervous on camera, I don’t think that’s ever going to disappear! LOL but if it goes away, I will definitely be a very happy guy!

I have been noticing that sometimes I’m more comfortable than others and this mainly happens when I’m doing long videos.

      A 14-day challenge? Wow I don’t know haha I don’t have that many products I think.

But I’m definitely going to start creating how-to videos after this and well, only time will tell.

I’m pretty sure I will create some amazing stuff after the challenge ends.

Thanks for supporting me all the way and looking forward to working with you, take care Pat! ;-)

Hey Sergio, I noticed that you said you got the Logitech CD10 HD Pro Webcam because you wanted to look good when doing Skype interviews.

I have a Logitech Webcam but I don’t know what model it is. Is is not the one you describe here as it is a little round black ball shape. But, it makes me look terrible when I see myself on Skype. I have heard other people say this too so it’s not just me being vain. Does the CD10 HD help to make you look as you normally do?

      Hey Sandy,

Logitech is a great company and they always create amazing products too.

The most usual cameras were round-ball shapes but Logitech started breaking this trend a while ago and managed to create some great cameras with rectangular-like shapes.

The first two videos on this post, were shot on an HD flipcam and the third and fourth videos were shot entirely just using the Logitech HD Pro C910.

Having this camera does a HUGE difference when going live on camera (Skype included).

If you want to produce great quality videos, aim for a camera that’s HD (high definition).

My strongest recommendation would be this exact model (Logitech C910) I’m showing here but feel free to do some further research if needed.

Thanks for stopping by and hope I answered your questions, take care and have a great day! ;-)

Hey Sergio, great video’s man! You never needed to have worried about your appearance before a camera.
You are a PRO! Btw. I think I will buy that camera from your webshop soon.
    Keep up the good work,
    Anna.

    • Sergio Felix November 18, 2011 at 8:10 am #

      Wow Anna, thank you!!

I really still feel like I’m gonna die (haha) but sometimes I actually do feel comfortable! I guess I’m still in search for that ‘sweet spot’ ;-)

Thank you for supporting me and just as a quick tip, watch out (or read) the post about the Logitech Headset (I included the link on my signature) because I mention a little bit how do I actually do my ‘shopping’ online when I have to pick an item for my marketing needs.

Hope you will find it helpful.

Thanks for coming by, leaving a wonderful and kind comment and have a rockin’ weekend, take care! ;-)

As stated before, Logitech is AWESOME!

I have (had) one – so bummed I lost my software – it was a good one. It is still on my laptop, but I hate using a laptop – personal preference. I hate to buy a new one, but some day I supposed I will have to since I looked all over and cannot find the software – tried downloading it from online, but I guess it is outdated *sigh*

This camera looks like a good one – will check it out – thanks.

You clap when you get nervous? I laugh or giggle and can be annoying I am sure..lol. But your clapping is great!! :)

You mention a good point – about looking like yourself and not doing your hair up all fancy, or whatever….mine looks like a mop…hahahahaha!

Understand how long it takes to edit and all that – ugh!! I guess we just have to keep on making them to just whip them out, right?

Another great review – will definitely be checking this camera out :)

      Hey Linda,

This camera is SPOT ON for windows and you can take really amazing pictures with it too.

Yeah, I do clap when I get nervous or don’t know what to do, is like my “ok… now what the heck?” thing LOL

On the other hand, my hair looks even worse than a mop, that’s why I use sunglasses sometimes (more on that on the recap post I’ll publish after this challenge).

As for video editing, I’m still a newbie! Hope to get this down quick because I’m planning to create my first training course very soon!

Thanks again for stopping by and leaving your great feedback ;-)

PS. Tell me what your camera is and what your current OS is and I’ll look it up for you.
