A better question would be…

What does an Internet Marketing expert does different than an average marketing Joe who no matter how hard he tries, he still can’t figure out how to make a single dollar online?

I believe it has to do a lot with several factors.

And just to name a few:

Knowledge

Mindset

Positioning

Branding

Planning

Perseverance

Trust

Hard work

The Right Audience

Etc…

This list can practically go on and on but let’s not over complicate stuff.

Let’s keep it simple…

You Have To Be Known, Likeable and Trustworthy

Have you heard about that saying that your prospects need to know, like and trust you BEFORE becoming a client of yours?

Now let’s get a little bit further than that because it actually takes a little bit more for this equation to work as we want it.

I know bloggers who are very well known, highly likeable and trustworthy as well, yet they are struggling like there’s no tomorrow to generate income because they lack an irresistible offer for their audience.

On the other hand, I know people with great products but a very shitty attitude and while they do make money, they could probably make a lot more if they were a little bit more likeable but hey, that’s their way of doing business, I’m not judging anyone.

Let’s Do A Little Bit Of Reverse Engineering

I’m going to set our most desired final goal first and then we’re going to reverse engineer that until we reach the point in which we are currently at right now.

But before I do that, I want you to know what’s my take on this so we can define who is the person making the most money online.

Note: This is what I have personally seen in my two and a half years observing how (theoretically speaking) an average Joe makes money online:

So I got started with free courses and basically refused to learn from anyone in particular (I didn’t know anyone that I could ask for advice or help anyway) so after several months of sleepless nights and reading every single thing I could on the subjects that interested me, one day I finally decided to hit that “buy now” button and entered my PayPal password for the first time.

After that, I found out about $1 trials, then very cheap warrior special offers (from the WarriorForum) and little by little I started losing the fear of investing in my knowledge until I finally reached the point of buying $497 courses and paying top dollars to be personally trained.

So here comes the important question now…

What’s the Easiest and Fastest Way to Make some Serious Money Online?

In my personal point of view, this would be coaching.

You can make some serious coin if you can come up with must-have services such as autoresponders, video players, hosting equipment, graphic design software, etc., but this is in no way easy, not cheap and definitely not fast.

I still believe the fastest way to massive profits is through coaching and I don’t mean Internet Marketing Coaching, it can be coaching in any niche as long as you have great knowledge about it or a huge interest on a very specific niche.

I see this all the time in Facebook: “Hey I have one open slot for coaching because blah blah blah” and people react to these updates (they buy their way in!) and I’m not talking about some easy investments, I’m talking about high ticket entries such as:

$497

$1,000

$2,000

$5,000

$10,000 and yes… even

$20,000!

Af first I was like well, what the heck is going on here? But then I understood, as long as there is someone willing to pay you, then why not?

Note 1: Obviously, there is some ninja marketing tactics going on in order to successfully be able to sell these kind of seats but that’s beyond the scope of this article.

Note 2: I strongly believe my final goal is within personal coaching but you can have a completely different goal from mine, that’s completely fine.

I’m still going to keep up with the Personal Coaching example just to keep things simple.

Personal Coaching: How Do You Get There?

Well first of all, you have to have some stuff in place such as previous experience, results, testimonials, income proof, etc.

And the only way to get all of that, is to start making waves with a product of your own or a service, depending on what area you are most interested in.

So let’s pretend you do very well at driving traffic, you write awesome articles, you are likeable and you are a very hard working person but still, you’re not making any money (yet).

Having said that, what do we need to focus on now… Make those first sales right?

And how do you do that… Remember what I told you above… Be known, likeable and trustworthy?

Well, to keep up doing even more reverse engineering on this, you need to put yourself out there first.

And I don’t mean write a gazillion of blog posts and get all crazy on twitter and facebook, what I mean is you have to figure out how to be KNOWN.

The fastest way to meet a person is not through written words or through pictures, is through LIVE interaction.

And by live interaction I mean putting yourself on VIDEO.

A LOT.

Just in case you are not agreeing with me right now, I want you to answer this very simple question:

Pick any five (alive) marketers that you like a LOT, ready?

Question: Can you tell me what their voices sound like?

You may have chosen some book authors and may have never heard them speak before but in all honesty, I know exactly what my top five marketers sound like, dress like, their gestures, everything.

Because of video.

Since we want to engineer and mold our brand ourselves, chances are, we may never write something like Think And Grow Rich or maybe we will but I like to keep things simple and I don’t even consider myself a writer so everything else, is still pushing me towards video.

Taking Video Marketing To The Extreme

Something that I want to take out of the way is that I like to teach by example.

And chances are you already have a blog by now (if you don’t, that’s perfectly fine since Youtube is FREE anyway) and I wanted to share all this information with you before I did it on my blog.

The idea is to do this together, it will be way more fun and we can share our results later!

Also the premise of this, is that if you’re a perfect nobody right now or feel like you’re not engaging your audience that much, you could add video everywhere on your site and acquire that almost instant feeling of people knowing you.

It will be your job to become likeable (you dont’ have to try though, just be yourself!) and if you are really passionate about what you’re doing, the trust factor will come almost right away with just a few videos.

Take a good look at my site and you’ll see it’s pretty much empty.

The About Me page is a bit boring and doesn’t says that much about me.

There are pictures from me everywhere on the blog roll but again, a picture doesn’t really tell your audience who you really are.

And there are some videos scattered throughout my blog posts but maybe not that many either.

In my book, this doesn’t cut it yet.

We have to have a LOT more exposure on video so whenever someone visits us for the first time, they will be tempted to watch AT LEAST one of your videos, probably one sitting on the sidebar and/or on your About Me page so make sure you have something good in place!

Note: By “good” I don’t mean something fancy, just be as natural as you can get.

Attempting to be someone you are not on video is only going to backfire on what we want to accomplish here.

Increase Your Visitor Curiosity With Video “Hooks”

You can see the sidebar does have an embedded latest video that I included yesterday. I did this as a way to build some buzz to today’s update.

The “Building Buzz” Video

And since I am going to change that video to something else, you can watch the video down below just so you have a reference of what I mean by building buzz.

How To Achieve The Know, Like & Trust Factor The Fastest Way

Okay, so we have already identified a really good way to make a LOT of money online and what we can do NOW in order to reach that desired position of selling coaching or higher priced information products.

Note: Even if you don’t want to become a coach, you can still achieve trust factors that will go through the roof using video this way.

Now all we have to do, is take action upon a plan right?

So here’s the plan guys…

You are going to need a few must-have videos on your site:

About Me Page Video

I would say one video on your About Me page would be killer.

Make it as long as needed to present who you are, why you have built your site for and what are your plans for the future.

But, also remember that this will be your presentation card so don’t push it either, try to keep it as short and engaging as possible.

Sidebar Video

This can be the shortest video you have ever made and probably the easiest one to make too.

It will be just you introducing yourself, greeting your visitor and maybe thanking them for checking out your content.

This would be the perfect opportunity to include a call to action at the end like “Oh and if you don’t want to miss any of my updates, don’t forget to subscribe down below”.

Once again, do not push it though.

People subscribe because their interest on your content (or freebie) is peaked, not because you tell them to.

Resources Page Video

If you have a Resources page, I would probably throw another video there too.

Have you ever seen the disclaimers on those pages?

“I only promote services that I use myself” or “my recommendations are always backed up by my own experiences”, “I will make a tiny commission if you decide to buy through my links”, etc.

These disclaimers are meant to raise trust and what better way of building trust than speaking live on video about WHY are you recommending those resources in the first place?

If you are lying about it, this is going to be seen from a mile away but if you are completely genuine about what you say on that video, it is going to build almost instant trust on you and your recommendations.

Reviews Videos

These are great when you want to promote something new you just bought.

Even if you are not an expert using the software or service, you just have to talk about what you understand so far, what you like about it and what you want to get out of it.

Come as natural as you can.

It is the same for internet marketing training, coaching courses, everything.

A big no-no would be to just record a video with music and nobody speaking, that’s like the lamest kind of videos out there and it will probably hurt your credibility.

Never… EVER, do that.

Special Offers & Bonuses Videos

These convert like gangbusters because people can see right through your eyes if you’re being sneaky or if you are being genuine about your offers and bonuses.

Recording these kind of videos is what is actually going to set the pace for you to start learning how to be a video based marketer.

And whenever you need to create sales pages or specials for your own products, everything will come to you as second nature so this one is really a win-win situation.

List Building Videos

These are the videos you would normally put inside a landing/squeeze page.

Whether the video plays or not (some marketers like to use the “fake video” image to build even more curiosity) these are generally really short informal videos.

You just tell people what they can expect once they enter their details and always say something like “Just enter your name and e-mail so I know where to send your [freebie here]“.

That right there is a ninja marketing tactic in order to drop down the barrier of “if this is free, why can’t he just give me the information here instead?”

Well, because we need to know where to send the information first Sherlock! (you’re on a squeeze page after all, remember… see what I just did there?)

Thank You Page Videos

You normally see this type of videos just after you bought something (and some marketers don’t even bother to do them, shame on them!)

I love this type of videos because they give a sensation of fluidness in the sales and/or list building funnel.

Just imagine this scenario:

You land on a squeeze page and there is some dude telling you what he is going to teach you “on the other side”.

You sign up, confirm and voilá, there’s this dude again telling you “hey thanks a lot for confirming, here are your free downloads and I’ll talk to you soon so you have time to digest the information”.

You obviously get excited, want to consume the information and now you’re even expecting to hear from this guy again very soon!

If the information is top notch and you keep receiving even more cool stuff from this person, what do you think you’re going to do, when he hits you with a “no brainer” offer?

Chances are, you are going to become a customer and all of this was originated from a landing page and a short video.

Can you see the power of this already?

Building Your Authority Videos

These videos are actual training.

Whether is just a “talking head” video, a slide presentation or using a screencast to show how to do something on your computer, this is as near as it gets to actually creating your first information product.

But what these type of videos do more than anything else, is build your authority.

Remember, you want to be seen as the expert at something and if you already managed to get someone all the way to reach this point, chances are you are very close to start making some real serious money online.

Blog Post Videos

These are regular videos embedded in your blog posts and are meant to build your credibility.

You may talk about something in particular, maybe you like to rant or want to express a feeling.

These are the actual type of videos that can be informal, don’t need much preparation or editing work and what actually makes your visitor feel that they know you.

Never underestimate the power of these type of videos and the more you can use them, the better.

Again, just keep them short since people don’t have the attention spans they used to have before and try to come up with something unique that brands you.

It can be an opening, a closing, a funny phrase, just think of something but don’t worry if you don’t have anything right now, that can be further developed down the road.

Optional: Youtube Welcome Video

Creating this video is more for video marketers who actually use Youtube as one of their main sources of income or who make strong use of Youtube in their business.

You create a video introducing yourself, you explain what your channel is about and what people can expect from you there.

It’ll be in their choice if they want to subscribe to your channel or not but the main focus here should be in that as soon as somebody lands on your channel for the first time, they instantly know what you’re about.

You’ll get extra branding and positioning points if you took the time to configure your channel with your blog’s colors, pictures and stuff.

What Do You Need To Get Started

The basics would be a video camera (flipcam, phone, webcam, etc) and a microphone.

While I do recommend to have a decent microphone, it’s okay to use the mic on your video camera if that’s all you have or you can also get a cheap headset from Logitech or Microsoft.

Crappy video won’t be perceived too bad as long as the audio is great but great video with bad audio quality will be perceived as useless and a complete waste of time (and it can probably hurt your brand even before you have a brand so avoid doing this at all costs).

You are going to need to have a great mindset, attitude and genuinely look forward to do this.

Otherwise, you’ll get frustrated and are going to end up thinking maybe internet marketing is not for you.

Even worse, you can probably just read this big article I’ve been writing for hours, only to not take action at all and continue to chase money in every way you can.

But I don’t want to put any negative thoughts in your head, you are currently on the Marketing With Sergio site and on this place, we are all about getting the job done no matter how hard it is!

Last but not least, you are going to need to have a plan in place.

Don’t Get Overwhelmed, Just Get Going

I already mentioned most uses and where you can get the most out of your videos, the key here is to just lay out a plan that you think you can follow up and stick to it.

Probably the easiest video you can get started with, is the greeting video for the sidebar.

If you manage to do that one, then you can definitely go for the video in your about me page or your resources page.

Then you can go for a quick, straight to the point video in a landing page!

It doesn’t matter if you’re only making the video for the landing page and the freebie is just a report or a book.

The important bit here is you getting started doing videos and implementing them in your daily activities (if possible).

The harder one would be to create a series of videos that teach something and load them up in your autoresponder.

Your final goal is to create all the videos I mentioned, have at least one squeeze page in place, a thank you video for it and a video that demonstrates or teaches something you are good at (the content).

Conclusion

If you are unsure about this, I will be doing all this video marketing stuff myself in the following days, from the most basic video to the full blown up video series so you can get a good idea of what I’m trying to achieve.

I wouldn’t wait until I showcase my work so you can get started though, the sooner you start experimenting with this, the better because failing forward gives you more experience than being a passive type of marketer and just assume stuff instead of going through the real experience.

Hope you found this useful, it took me a long time to write this up and if you managed to get all the way down here without skimming, then you’re a real trooper, thank you!

Did I tell you I was going to start recording a lot more videos?

Oh yes I did, you can read that latest post here how to keep yourself accountable with social media

I even made it easy to subscribe to my YouTube Channel there, you just need to push a button, see? I think about you!

Anyway, today’s a quick update about what you can do when things don’t go as planned.

Started Jogging

In case you’re not aware I started jogging this past Monday, so today it was four days in a row waking up at 5:50am (talk about developing a great habit!) and going for an early run to get all the creativity juices going and getting a healthier body as well.

Two birds, one stone right?

And fair enough, everything was working wonderful today until I hit the 20 minute mark or so, I felt something weird in my foot sole, well it was excruciating PAIN to say it in fewer words.

I felt a little bit uncomfortable yesterday and I was doubftul about running today but since I actually woke up with a very good humor and the day was awesome, I thought why not?

I’ve been running for three straight days, maybe a light jog will do…

So I created this video that relates the rest of the story!

Video: When Things Don’t Go As Planned

By the way, sorry that you can’t see my forehead for the 2nd part of the video.

That was entirely my fault on not double checking the camera angle.

Shift Your Mindset

It would have been pretty easy to say how shitty and unfortunate this event was and how my whole day went to hell just because of this but instead, I’m focusing on the positive side of things.

I could have, should have, blah, blah, boring!

Complaining, moaning and whining is not allowed anymore in my life, what’s done it’s done so I’ll just jump to the next thing that makes me happy.

Getting in touch with you, vlogging, writing, learning, developing my stuff, all this makes me happy so everything’s good!

Special Shout Out

I have to give it to my man Andrew Stark who wrote an excellent post yesterday in which he talks exactly about how a simple change can make you brilliant.

His video introduction is awesome by the way.

Conclusion

Time for you to shine my friend…

Do you still rage quit when something doesn’t go as planned and you get grumpy the rest of your day or what’s your plan to deal with stuff like this?

Take it away on the comment thread! ;-)

Just made it back from running and I have something great to share with you.

I know I just published a new post just a few hours ago (always be creating must read!)

But since I think this is something important, I don’t really want to wait a week to let you know about it.

Dr. Feelgood

Ahh, remember that song? *headbangs a little bit* I used to love it too!

Anyway, I’ve always said that for anyone to be able to be able to excel in your work, your personal relationships and other aspects of life, you have to feel good first (just like that “Dr. Feelgood” Mötley Crüe song)

We as online entrepreneurs often forget about taking care of ourselves and we normally let go more usual than we should.

Video: How To Keep Yourself Accountable With Social Media

So I created this quick video to let you know what you can do about this situation.

Note: I promess I didn’t cross my eyes on this one like I did on yesterday’s.

I’m going to be doing a lot more videos so I would highly recommend you subscribe to my YouTube channel.

I have two videos aligned to publish on my channel.

One it’s for dealing with stubborn categories’ slugs and the other one is for learning how to use iFrames.

See? Even an expert can be learning something new every day!

Conclusion

That’s it for now guys, hope you are taking care of your health so you can push your business forward even harder.

Take care and have a great day!

Just like I said on my previous post (Being Consistent And Never Looking Down On Yourself) I have decided to start publishing new content regularly on Tuesdays.

The main reason is so you know when to visit the blog although I may also post stuff in between Tuesdays.

It was incredibly difficult for me to get this article published early so that’s why I’m publishing late at night (it’s still Tuesday though).

Anyway enough of explanations, what do I actually mean by always be creating?

Always Be Creating (ABC)

I can’t really remember where I got this from but the idea is that no matter what you do every day, you always be creating.

Sounds really basic yet many of us won’t (or can’t) follow this simple rule.

And the reason for this is that computers aren’t what they used to be back in the day.

Allow me to explain this a little better…

What Computers Were Like 23 Years Ago

Back in the day, computers were boring to regular people because all you could do on them was work and you had the most boring programs ever as well.

I remember I used to hate Windows 3.1 and I was completely happy and comfortable using a MS-DOS console, creating batch files and learning how to code in GW-BASIC (this was a geeky plug lol).

Exact computer model in which I started coding for the first time 23 years ago (aprox)

If you wanted to play something, graphics were similar to an Atari 2600 game and sounds (if any) were MIDI and terrible, there weren’t any game controllers and most computers didn’t even have a mouse.

Having said that, whenever you wanted to actually do some work in a computer, you had absolutely no distractions!

You couldn’t have two windows opened at the same time or if you actually had two windows opened (with some versions of Windows) you couldn’t be doing something on the active window and having something else running in the secondary window.

What Computers Are Like Today

But times have changed…

You can be playing a multiplayer videogame in network mode, watching a tv program, downloading software, having a Skype conversation with someone at the other end of the world and be monitoring your real time visitor’s traffic on a 2nd monitor all at the same time!

What you can do today on a computer is absolutely NUTS.

One Of My Modded Computers

And that’s the same reason why it is so hard for you to actually be productive on a machine that is practically an entertainment system in all its expression.

Every pro blogger out there is suggesting all these weird ideas to avoid this like:

“turn off the internet (or WiFi)”

“stop using social media”

“check your e-mail once per day”

“use the wordpress distraction-free writing mode”

And that list goes on and on just because computers are highly distracting machines!

Note: You can learn more about the main computer I’m currently using here how to build your computer from scratch.

Are You Working Or Digesting Information?

This is a very common issue that we all have dealt with at some point in our Internet Marketing journey and I see a lot of people getting confused with these two activities:

Getting some work done vs. digesting information.

There’s a huge difference between “having to” do something and doing something because you want to do it.

Let’s talk about the videos you receive inside your inbox for a second.

These videos can include stuff like this:

special pre launch offers

videos on sales pages

videos inside blogs

facebook videos

funny youtube videos

It can be really easy to decide to watch them all because you may miss something special that is of your interest, right?

Videos can make your day go to waste very quick as well because as you know, time flies when you are watching an engaging video that interests you.

Even though video marketers recommend to do 2-3 minute videos, I know many marketers that are capable of doing two-hour videos (sometimes even longer than that!).

Now, can you imagine how many days will actually go to waste all because you think you need to read and watch everything that lands on your inbox?

What happens if you have been watching training videos and not offers from your inbox?

That’s good only if you are going to apply right away (create something) what you are learning from those videos.

If you are just watching training videos for the sake of learning, you would probably be a lot better creating something instead.

Creating vs Working

This is where it gets tricky guys.

You can consider a lot of your activities to be “work”.

That can be reading blogs, watching videos, learning something new but if you are doing something passively, then it is definitely not work.

On the other hand, working CAN be:

creating a new e-mail campaign

researching a new niche

redesigning your website and social media platforms

writing a new report

etc

So the sum of all these activities can result in our chosen buzzword for the day: always be creating!

And this leads to something I just recently discovered which have helped me quite a lot and I think it may help you too.

Developing Your “Always Be Creating” Habit

First of all, there are several studies that indicate that if you can do something consistently for 21 days, there’s a very high chance you can actually become successful at developing that habit.

Now I started running two days ago but since I wanted to prepare for this in advance, I started waking up at 5:50am one week before my runs.

After the first five days, my body already knew exactly when the alarm clock was going to go off, I didn’t even needed to go for 21 days.

Note: I still struggle to get myself out of the bed but that’s a different story.

Anyway, I want you to think about this, how much do you think you would be able to accomplish if every single day, you created something new, business wise?

And I mean daily like clockwork.

If You’re An Action Taker, Here’s Your Assignment

In case you haven’t plan your activities for this week, you can make a list for anything that needs to get done.

Let’s say you want to create a freebie for your site. So you separate the tasks for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

So it’s five different things, it could probably go down as:

Wed: Niche/Market/Keyword Research

Thu: Book Chapters/Training Modules

Fri: Content Creation

Sat: Monetization, Affiliate Cloaking, List Building Links for a secondary opt-in (maybe a sub-niche)

Sun: Check that everything works, add graphics as needed and wrap it up!

You release this on Monday and come out as a serious action taker.

Note: This post I wrote not too long ago may actually come in handy: How To Avoid Being Overwhelmed With Your To-Do Lists

This is just an example guys, I’m not telling you to actually go and create a report, just make your own plan and follow through!

Keep Yourself Accountable

You can keep yourself accountable by using post-it notes for each day or a sheet of paper and a pen, no need to get fancy with apps and stuff.

Now make sure, at least one BIG activity gets done every single day.

By “big” I don’t mean create one full product in a day, I mean the general outcome I outlined above and whatever happens, just get it done.

Note: These posts may also come in handy for this: How To Get It Done & The Power Of Writing Your Goals Down On Paper

Crossed-Eyed Video Stunt

I can honestly tell you I don’t know how I managed to do this but please don’t try this at home! LOL

Song in the background was from my latest rock band (ages ago) if you ever watched any of my earlier Youtube videos you may remember some audio bits.

Note: If you’re interested in finding out what we used to sound like, you can listen a couple of full tracks I uploaded to soundcloud.

Conclusion

Well there you have it.

A complete plan to always be creating and pushing yourself and your business forward.

I haven’t mastered this myself (yet) but everything has been falling into place lately and that’s why I want you to do the same.

Everything gets easier when your determination is backed up by actions and not by saying what you are going to do.

Take care and talk soon!

Sergio

PS. There are many more exciting things coming. ;-)

A few days ago I talked with a friend of mine Joey Kissimmee from IncomePress.com

We talked for at least an hour on Skype and I got a ton of tips and advice about things I was doing wrong with my own website.

I thought I was doing kind of good but as soon as we started talking I realized there were other aspects of my marketing efforts that needed attention as well.

If you are reading this, a big massive thank you Joey, you helped me a TON man!

Video

Being Consistent

One of the things that grabbed my attention after our call was that I’m not consistent with what I’m doing right here.

I publish new stuff whenever I feel like it, I don’t pay attention to the day or time of the day (I used to but not anymore) so my audience never really knows when I have something new for them.

While this good practice (sticking to a publishing day) isn’t written in stone, it definitely helps to follow it because you can teach your audience when to reach out to you or when to expect an e-mail from you.

It’s all about the user’s experience.

The “surprise factor” is welcome from time to time but I guess it’s not awesome to have it so random that you NEVER know when to expect something from someone, you know what I mean?

I think I’m going to start publishing something new on Tuesdays and probably something quick and fun on the weekend although I still haven’t decided which day.

Never Look Down On Yourself

This is basically the “I’m not worth it” syndrome from Wayne’s World.

You are actually worth everything and then some more!

I have met a few people that have talked to me like if I was in a different level and I’m not.

This is something I had to learn myself because every single successful marketer I knew about, it was a new idol for me to look up to.

Joey Kissimmee showed me that he can talk to the “little people” as well.

What it was supposed to be ten minutes, turned out to be one full hour of his time, I know marketers that charge $497 for 30 minute sessions!

This only reminded me that we are all equal in the end, just at different stages.

The fact that X or Y is ahead in the game for me, doesn’t necessarily translates to “I’ll never be better than they are”.

I have proved this wrong several times through my entire life including my guitar teacher, my programming teacher, my skateboarding buddies, if it’s in my head to be the best, then nothing can stop me, period.

It should be the same for you.

And you don’t have to be the best either if that sounds uncomfortable to you.

I have taught others and they have gotten better than myself too, it’s just the cycle of life, embrace it!

On this call Joey proved to me that he genuinely cares about his audience and if you are willing to connect with him, all you have to do is read his blog!

I think this is an awesome lesson for all of us to learn on giving back.

Work On Yourself

Either mentally or healthy speaking, you should always be willing to put some work in yourself.

It could be becoming healthier, learning something new, creating a new habit for yourself (hopefully a good one) you get the idea.

In the video I actually say you can’t teach others how to make money online if you’re not making it yourself but I’m a bit wrong because it doesn’t applies to everything.

There’s a LOT of sport coaches that CAN actually coach top athletes and they don’t ultimately HAVE TO be able to do everything they are suggesting their athletes to do.

It is a good premise though, how can you teach something if you have never mastered it yourself first?

And makes a lot of sense.

Before I continue to go nowhere, let’s get back to working on yourself for a bit…

If you’re genuinely happy about what you do, there’s no reason to be scared or procrastinate about anything that is stopping you right now in order to succeed in your niche.

Think about it.

When I was in college, I remember I had to give this talk about Chemistry and man… I was shaking so bad that the teacher told me to get water and put myself together.

It was embarrassing and you would think that I would calm down after that but it only got worse.

A few days later I had to give another presentation but this time was on IRC (internet relay chats) for a computing class and it was something I was so passionate about, I literally flew through my presentation.

The Q&A’s were sick, I was going back and forth with the students and I actually did it so good that the teacher asked me if I wanted to repeat this for a bigger audience (I declined since I was somewhat in the “dark side” of things and wanted to keep myself under the radar but I couldn’t be any happier about my “special moment” and achievement there).

When you feel good and you have to teach or talk something you are very passionate about, there’s no room for being nervous because it’s just you and what you know best.

That’s your niche! (hint)

I’m going back to jogging tomorrow, cold showers and healthy meals.

This is going to put a LOT of stress on myself because I’m busy with my marketing stuff, I don’t have time to go and jog around but the thing is, if I don’t feel well inside, I can’t do anything right either.

I rest assure you will see the big difference!

Don’t Get It Perfect, Get It Going

This damn saying has been haunting me for my entire two years online working as an Internet Marketer.

While I’m far from being perfect in everything I do, I strive to make things as good as I can but in my mind they are never “good enough” so either I get rid of them or I simply won’t do anything about it.

That’s one of the biggest mistakes anyone can do online.

You have to be willing to go forward with whatever you have, if you fail, you then get up and try again in a different way.

The sooner you do that, the sooner you’ll learn the right way of doing things.

That’s the main reason why there’s a crazy ratio that separates highly successful marketers from people that never make one cent online.

If you aren’t aware I have been writing a sales page for a while, I’m willing to have it done before this weekend.

You can ask me anytime about my current stage with it, I’m no longer concerned about making it perfect.

Another key internet marketing player (Jon Olson) told me to just do a video and include a few bullets and go with that.

To be honest, that was too far away from my comfort zone but right now, it actually sounds like the perfect solution.

Instead of trying to convince anyone why they should check out my training, I can openly talk about it on video and you know what?

A lot of sales pages lack that factor because the person selling the training is normally NOT the creator, just a reseller!

I am DEFINITELY including a video now.

Conclusion

Expect an update from me every Tuesday and I still have to decide another shorter, fun update on the weekend.

If you don’t want to miss any of my updates, sign up to the blog.

When I say “never look down on yourself” I also mean get out of your comfort zone.

Don’t miss out on any single opportunity and chance that reveals to yourself, become a YES MAN (or YES WOMAN if that’s your case).

It won’t be easy but remember that doing nothing is easier than doing something.

And doing something has a LOT more rewards than doing nothing.

By working on yourself I mean read a great book, go out for a walk, have a beer if you really need it, do something that is uncomfortable, grow each and every day.

And lastly but not least important don’t be afraid to get it wrong.

Imperfection proves that you’re a real person.

If I was scared of that, I would never write in a second language, much less speak English on video.

Embrace who you are and offer that to your audience.

I am starting to believe that is the only way to online profits now… so it’s your call!

Take care and talk soon.

Sergio

I shouldn’t even be posting updates right now (I’m in the middle of writing my sales copy) but man, I’m so happy I just had to do it.

But I will make this update very short too, I pinky promise!

It’s basically aimed at people that do not own their own domain name.

First of all, I don’t care what your <del>reason</del> excuse for not having your FirstNameLastName.com domain is, you NEED to have your own domain name ASAP.

In case you were wondering, I do own SergioFelix.com and actually many more so don’t even think of pointing fingers at me!

Importance Of Having Your Own Domain Name Video

Check out the video down below… I’m going to be an uncle today! ;-)

The website is lucamulder.com my brother in law hasn’t updated it much apart from including a custom logo but the website is supposed to share images and stuff from the new born baby so his family in Netherlands can check it out, now how cool is that?

What… You Don’t Have A Website Yet?

I already wrote a few awesome articles (videos included) showing you how to do it, just check them out here:

How To Get Your Domain Name

Conclusion

There are a lot of new bloggers wasting their time, writing 5-7 hour blog posts and making absolute no revenue at all.

If you want to have an online diary then more power to you! (just remember you’re not that important…)

But if you actually want to make money online, I would take the advice given earlier and actually sign up to my upcoming WordPress training here.

It’s not going to be ridiculous expensive but it’s not going to be FREE either.

Signing up there will save you a few bucks though.

Cheers and I hope you get uncomfortable and be awesome today! ;-)

This is a very video-ish update because it has not one but two videos!

On the first video I’m trying to show you a really cool video service that is FREE to use and that if used wisely, can give you a lot of clout with your audience.

On the second video, I am showing you a FREE time-limited offer for creating your first heatmap.

But before we dive any further, let me tell you how I nearly killed myself yesterday.

I Got High On Coffee

Have in mind that I don’t want to make a big deal out of this.

I also don’t want this to be the focus of this article either but I still want you to know about it so are you ready?

Let’s party on then!

I’m not your average IT guy and by this I mean I don’t like:

comics

manga

anime

gaming

gadgets

cubicles

rat racing

low salary wages

high stressful jobs

coffee

and many other things

But, did you notice I also said coffee?

Well, I have been working like a maniac for the past days, being this last Monday and Tuesday just beyond crazy.

I figured out that if I drank a lot of coffee I would be able to keep my productivity levels through the roof.

And I did.

But I also paid a high price dealing with the consequences.

I’ll let you know what happened in a second…

Being Super Productive

Even though I have used Optimize Press before I don’t consider myself an expert using it.

This past Monday I finished setting up my full membership site, took care of all the minor mistakes and dealt with a few minor CSS tweaks.

Yesterday, I started toying around with WishList Member found out I had a few security breaches compromised which I also fixed and last but not least, I created a full JV Blog on Optimize Press from scratch that has the same feeling as the main membership site.

Talk about brand continuity.

How Many Cups Of Coffee By Now?

So by now, I still have a TON of things to do and all of a sudden I start feeling dizzy.

I noticed one of my legs was jumping a lot (like when you are anxious) and I just couldn’t stop it even though I was well aware of it.

My heart rate started climbing and I immediately said to myself “shit… I think I drank too much coffee…”

I got up and walked to the kitchen, I had some water, ate a boiled egg, then some chips.

Then I was basically eating whatever I could get my hands on because I started getting really desperate with the situation.

When I saw the trash can I saw about 5 or 6 sugar bags plus I used regular sugar in the morning so I was thinking I probably had about 10 cups of coffee on the whole day.

Okay, Where’s That Panic Button?

Needless to say, I’m not an expert when it comes to panic attacks but I knew there was a big chance I was going to experiment some turbulence ahead.

And I did.

I got back to my computer and started a Spreecast show.

For those of you that may not have a clue of what this is, it’s a free live video streaming service in which you can just talk to an audience, share links, take questions, you basically can interact with whoever decides to show up at your show.

The idea was to not feel alone and to talk to somebody (I live alone and it was very late to call my girlfriend) but I didn’t make the show live.

For some reason the idea of me having a heart attack live on camera wasn’t very appealing and I din’t want to traumatize anyone so I started broadcasting for myself.

The Spreecast Show

You can watch what I recorded here.

I don’t look that concerned but believe me, I was.

I tried to talk about my settings but the only thing I was really thinking in my head was some sort of an instant song I made up, it went something like this:

“Please don’t die, let’s stay alive, because staying alive is good and fun, I’m getting married this year and I’m about to be an uncle for the first time too so I don’t want to traumatize anyone, let’s be alive, because people are meant to die but I still haven’t done anything with my life, so please don’t die because dying is not so cool, etc, etc…”

It was catchy but it was definitely a WTF moment as well.

Action Taker: Create an Spreecast Account and follow me here.

What Are Heatmaps?

A heatmap is basically a map that tracks visitors behaviours (clicks, scrolls, mouse hovers, etc) and you can use this on anything web based.

(technically speaking, a heatmap can include anything that’s being displayed on a monitor so it’s not just for web based systems, it’s a general usability tool)

I created a video to show you how this works on a live environment, how you can get a <del>FREE</del> lifetime account that includes:

tracking to one page (you can switch the page anytime, even to another domain)

click-action heatmaps for the first 5000 visitors to your site per month

Heatmap Live Video Action

I took action as soon as I saw this offer so I registered my free account yesterday.

And after seeing that it actually works, I decided to share this great offer with you so check the video out and see what is all this about.

Is this neat or what?

Heatmap Usages

Have you seen how people use the mouse pointer to read?

I don’t use it myself and I’m not saying you use it either but there’s a big chunk of people that actually do this.

With that said, if people are not hovering over your ads (much less clicking on them) then it’s time to tweak your site my friend.

The same applies for a squeeze page, just think about all the different sections:

benefits

features

fake video image (do people click there or not?)

What about long landing pages?

Do people scroll slowly or do they just jump all the way down?

How about those guarantee offers, do they even read them?

Do you have a membership site full of offers?

You may be tracking links but you don’t know exactly what people are looking at.

With a heatmap, you can see if people were about to click on something but they didn’t.

Maybe you need to do better graphics, change colors or layout schemes and obtain that desired click?

As you can see you can track and tweak anything you want, is all up to you.

Of course this is not an exact science, we can assume a few things based on heatmap historical data and the more you use this feature, the better you’ll be able to understand and interpret it.

Conclusion

I will NEVER drink coffee again or if I do, I’ll stick to one coffee a day assuming I do not drink this on a daily basis.

There’s a two-step action taking for you today.

1. Action Takers Only: Create a Spreecast Account and follow me.

It’s cool, it’s hip, it’s trendy and it works (besides you need an active account there so you can watch my shows anyway).

Create FREE Spreecast Account

2. Hardcore Action Takers Only: Grab your <del>FREE lifetime</del> account (offer already expired, you can still grab a free trial though) so you can get started using heatmaps today.

Go To Crazy Egg

If you have any problems installing the heatmap in your site, just let me know and I’ll help you out.

In the meantime, take care and don’t drink too much coffee, I know I won’t!

Sergio

PS. I’m creating the affiliate resources and materials today for my wordpress training and hopefully sales page will be ready today as well.
