The weather looks nice Sergio. I only get to wear my shorts about 4 months of the year outside here in the UK. I’m crying inside right now as it cold and miserable here :-(

Well done on your video and for keeping us up to date of your plans for 2012.

Have a great New Year all the best for 2012

    Hi Sergio,

    Looks beautiful there.

I am travelling too and find taking frequent breaks to be a wonderful creativity booster when on the road, or at home as well. After working we build up blocks to creativity. Tension in your being blocks creative ideas.

Take breaks to release the tension. Step away from the PC frequently. I take a 10 minute break each working hour to meditate, visualize, or to go for a walk. Powerful practice which helps me dissolve blocks and tap into creative ideas instantly.

Be persistent in taking breaks and you will never run out of creative ideas.

Thanks for sharing your insight Sergio. Happy Travels :)

You said it best than me mate!

When I’m not traveling I normally go for a quick morning jog and that gets the creativity juices flowing for me.

Thanks for stopping by and your kind comments, I really appreciate it.

Take care and have an awesome New Year celebration! ;-)

Hi Sergio, great video and as someone who was brought up by the sea, it was great to hear it once again. I did watch the video again to hear your message.

Great to hear you are having a great holiday and having the weather to match, currently sitting here with a fan heater and big monster slippers on, the great thing about the UK is the variety of weather we have, although I wish it was more warm than cold!

look forward to seeing how you start 2012 and here’s to your success.

      Hey Igor,

I’m glad you enjoyed watching and listening to the sound of sea again.

I visited England not long ago (Brighton and London in specific) and even though there were times of day where I could just wear a shirt, at night it was freezing cold.

I can’t imagine how colder it is right now as I’m not used to those low temperatures.

Thanks for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it and wish you all the best for 2012 too, take care! ;-)

Sergio, that reminds me of something that Neil Travers, an well known UK Internet Marketer always says ” Keep your head up and eyes open, opportunities are everywhere.” You can get creative ideas from anywhere if you are aware of what is going on around you.

I find it pays to have a notebook handy to jot down ideas as they come or they are easily forgotten.

    Enjoy your break.

      Hey Sandy,

I haven’t really heard from Neil Travers before, apparently he has a brother and both of them are into Internet Marketing.

I’m going to check them up further, thanks for bringing their name up!

As for that saying I think they are absolutely right, you just have to pay attention to details as we can create stories just about any event.

I find the notebook tip a great advice, I have two small notebooks.

The small one is exclusively to jot down ideas and I use the bigger one whenever I’m taking part in some training course to write down the important bits I still don’t dominate.

I normally don’t take these with me when I travel because I couldn’t ‘afford’ to lose any of them but I do take a notepad just in case something arises.

Thanks for the great comment and giving more value to the article Sandy.

Have a great start of week and I’m headed to check out your seven link challenge post, glad you decided to participate, take care! ;-)

Sergio, aloha. Absolutely agree with you on taking breaks. Aside from the creativity factor, it’s better to get up, walk away from the computer and do a few exercises.

Sergio, I think being aware increases creativity. Ideas for my bog posts comes as readily from reading other posts/comments as they do from looking out the window or reading a book. What I do is jot them down and file in my blog idea file. Unless the full post immediately comes to mind, I am not concerned with fleshing out the idea.

Also, Sergio, something else I have learned to do is when the creative juices are really flowing, to keep expanding ideas and taking them in different directions.

Enjoy your vacation. Best wishes for a year filled with exciting projects, interesting people, vibrant health, happiness in your heart and abundance in all that matters to you. Hauoli Makahiki Hou. Janet

      Hey Janet,

That’s a great piece of advice!

I think that just about any activity that doesn’t involves us being in front of our computers can be a great idea resource if we do pay attention to details like Sandy said on her comment.

Having a file with blog ideas, I tend to do that but then again, sometimes I forget to actually develop the ideas further and turn them into articles, that’s something I have to work on this year.

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving such a great and kind first comment on this blog.

You are right though, being stuck in front of the computer day in and day out will over time result in poorer quality posts.

    Hey Sergio,

Well, I should have known you had this video in a post. So I stopped by YouTube first and checked it out and commented as well but I certainly don’t mind doing it again.

Okay, so have we all said how jealous we are of you running around on the beach in your shorts in winter? Well I sure am although our weather has been up and down like that these past two months. But that’s Houston for you.

Glad you are taking a break though and have enjoyed it with your honey. As long as you are having a good time that’s all that really matters. I think your creative side will continue to shine through even when you are off and it shows through your videos.

By the way, I like the new look of your blog although I loved the plain white too. But you probably already knew that about me. :-)

Have a great week Sergio and see you again soon.

Thank you for the kind comment about the creative side, I’ll be trying to boost that in these days.

About the blog looks, it is just temporary, I don’t really like it all white and gray so I was just testing some stuff out but I’m planning to do more colors and moving things around.

Don’t know exactly when as I want to focus on product creation, I will worry about looks later.

hi Sergio, wow, what a location to be able to shoot your video in …. so jealous!! Seeing as you asked for my feeback, here it is: You are a real natural on camera and the location complements you perfectly! I love the light, and the length of your video, the only thing that really lets it down is the sound quality. If you could get yourself a lavalier mic, we would be able to hear you clearly above the sea and it would be top notch!
Thanks for your comments on my blog by the way :)

Thank you for the amazing compliment, I keep telling myself there is still a long way to go on my camera “skills” LOL but I do try to get better.

The lavalier (is it “lapel mic” the same too?) was a recommendation I received before so I’m definitely going to buy a new HD camera that supports a mic of these and improve the audio on my videos.

Hope to speak soon again and thanks for stopping by and your great comment, take care! ;-)

    Hi Sergio,
Wow what a wonderful backdrop…the water looked wonderful indeed.
I agree that, where possible, taking vacations and mini trips is a great idea and something I thoroughly recommend.

There does seem to be a trend amongst some internet marketers that suggests we have to be working or productive every single moment of the waking day or else we are missing out on the riches that are out there.

    This is nonsense.

I know that when I take a break that I am wonderfully refreshed and raring to go when I get back.

Also, for me at least, a change of scenery often leads to being more creative as new ideas emerge which would not have done so had I simply stayed at home.

    Patrick.

P.S. Sorry but I am visiting some of your posts out of sequence as I catch up on a few I missed over the holiday period.

      Hey Patrick,

Thanks for joining the conversation mate.

I think a single change in our routine can spring new ideas and I kind of agree and disagree at the same time (is that possible?) about trying to be focused every single minute of the day in order to catch the moments that can develop into a post, a product or whatever.

I say this because when I’m jogging I’m not trying to be creative, I’m just listening to music on my mp3 player and all of a sudden ideas start flowing everywhere.

So it is when I’m more relaxed and stress free when I get the best ideas.

So yeah, I think the people that tell us to be always aware of our environment can be a bit wrong about it or at least, that’s not how I work.

Thanks for jumping in, have a great weekend and talk soon mate! ;-)

    Hi Sergio,

Wow, what beautiful scenery. I am sure you had a fantastic time on your break.

You make some outstanding points about using breaks to open up the creative floodgates. I didn’t always understand this before, but have found it to be the gospel truth in my life and business. It’s kinda like if you’re on a long drive cross country and you’re trying to make “good time” to your destination point. You wouldn’t be too busy to stop for gas now, would ya? Yup, that’s pretty much the analogy I needed to grasp before I realized the truth in the statement and how well it translates to pretty much everything.

So glad you got to get yourself some fun in the sun! :) Thanks for the excellent insight!

My version of a break involves completely disconnecting from the web. No email, no phone, nothing. And a trip to the beach. Or somewhere sunny.

That’s the most relaxing, and refreshing thing to do (for me anyway). That gets the creative juices flowing right away.
