Video Branding 101

Hey guys and girls!

Since apparently no other marketers work on Sunday I thought about recording a video today just for you.

It’s on branding with video and you definitely need to watch the video down below because it has a ton of value.

If you have never done a video before, just take a look at this, I’m pretty sure you’ll love it.

Video Branding 101

In case you aren’t familiar with me or my videos, I struggled a lot before even thinking about putting myself in front of a camera.

If you want to see that then go to my channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/ITSergioFelix

But if you are already familiar with my videos, then just click play instead! ;-)

Summary

Video is not hard and branding is even easier if you are comfortable being yourself.

Remember there is no such thing as a “face for radio” you are you and people love you for that.

If you have any thoughts or comments, voice them on the comment thread and I’ll be more than happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for reading and watching hope you have a fantastic video branding day!

Sergio

      Thank you Cararta.

The video was shot today though so definitely not auto pilot! ;-)

No camera so right now an
In Your Face is not on.

        Just doing slides and talking.
Trying to find a webcam like my old Opti tek
which did everything…snapshots, portable and small
videos (could add memory but never did!)
Really a Pen style cam. But worked for me!

    Hi Sergio,

Love that easy listening music you have in the background.

Content is spot on, if you want to share your thoughts then as long as the background isn’t too distracting then it actually adds to the message if you shoot it without all the fancy crap.

Now if it’s a sales video that’s something different altogether as you would look cheap.

Hope that your wife’s feeling better now.

    Andrew

p.s. I will do a video one morning this week after I drop the kids off at their clubs this week as per your request.

    • Sergio Felix February 16, 2014 at 6:11 pm #

      Hey Andrew,

Glad you liked the video man and thanks for the feedback as well.

My wife is definitely feeling better now, thanks for the cool best wishes.

Looking forward to your video! ;-)

    Hey Sergio,

So far, I have done one face video (related to blogging), which I use for my about page.

I do plan to do more (thanks to folks like you and Dan, encouraging me to do so :D). My plan is to start in April/May (Video along with podcasting. I have done podcasting in the past, so it won’t be too hard).

Anyways, thanks for the awesome reminder, Sergio :)

    • Sergio Felix February 17, 2014 at 9:16 am #

      And Jeevan has a voice!

Just watched your “About Me” video and it’s pretty damn cool man.

Lots of things you can do to improve but just smile more and don’t be afraid of talking to the camera, the more you do it the more natural it will feel to you.

When you smiled at the end we could see the real Jeevan, that’s why I recommend you do that more.

Let me know when you start doing your videos and podcasts, would love to see what you come up with! ;-)

      • Jeevan Jacob John February 17, 2014 at 7:53 pm #

        Thanks :D

Ah, okay ;) I will surely keep that in mind the next time I do a video.

Of course. Thanks for the tip, Sergio.

Totally agree! Yes, be yourself. People can absolutely sense when someone is faking it! Thanks for being authentic!

    • Sergio Felix February 27, 2014 at 8:14 pm #

      Absolutely Amonda,

      Thanks for stopping by.

    Hello Sergio,

How are you doing? I hope all is well.

It is very important to having a brand as it helps you stand out from the crowd., and giving you an authority.

People have to remember a brand builds trust, and if your brand stands out and has its own edge then you have a chance to stand out from all the other marketers.

Creating a Video can be daunting but when you get it started it can be quite exiting, and is a way to get more exposure for your brand.

Graphics, logos, and other images will make you a recognizable image for your viewers, aswell as worded slogans.

HERE ARE MY 10 VIDEO BRANDING TIPS:
    _____________________________________

    1) Create an attractive logo in your video which stands out from the crowd, to identify your brand.

    2) If you lack confidence then use a video creation company to create your video until you feel that you can do it yourself.

    3) Use your logo on all your videos, and also on your social bookmaking profiles, blogs, facebook, twitter etc.

    4) Be unique from the rest, and do things that nobody does, with your own twist.

    5) Use creativeness in all forms in your videos and also other parts of your marketing, on your blog, in your products etc, which people will recognize and remember you for.

    6) After you have created your video and a powerful brand, write press releases and submit them to press release sites, for more exposure.

    7) Use a clever slogan for your company that people will remember, and which will stand out when being said, or read.

    8) Don’t sell in your videos immediately as this will scare many visitors away. Instead make a creative video and provide value and lead the customers to a squeeze page. Make sure the content is hot and useful, and not just hard selling promo offers to your list.

    10) Keep it simple. Don’t over complicate things by choosing hard to read, long names for your videos, blogs, ebook titles, products etc, but keep it simple.

Good luck in creating branded Videos.

I am liking your green background brand in your videos. It compliments my Golden colour Sergio!

Hey Matt, long time no see man!

I’ve been doing great, thanks for asking and there’s a lot of very cool advice in your feedback as well, definitely digging it.

The biggest problem I’ve found about marketers not doing videos or not using it for branding is because they have a lot of FEAR and I know this because it happened to me.

People will normally begin with excuses like:

      – “oh I don’t have a camera”
      – “I don’t know anything about video editing”
      – “I don’t have a green screen”

They are just covering the fact that they are scared of pushing the record button and start talking and being themselves.

Which in the end, is just a shame because that’s EXACTLY what people want to see… the REAL YOU!

I would actually advice against point #2, you get rid of this fear of the camera by actually doing more and more videos until it goes away.

It took me less than a week recording daily videos to get past this fear so maybe if I told people that, they would actually try it? Who knows but there’s an idea right there.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by brother and I’m glad you’re liking the green screen at the back, take care!

    Hi Sergio,

You know I have to put my two pennies in.

First the band is awesome. Kickin.

I am trying or will be trying harder to make videos later but i’m not such a great talker, being an ex drummer we sat at the back and kept our mouths closed. The noise was created elsewhere. Actually the guitarist makes all the noise ha ha, just kidding.

I am actually attending a seminar in an hour about creating videos with Joey – I’ve took his platinum membership a few weeks ago.

But this time i’m not making notes, just going to enjoy the seminar. And in need of a break from studying at present.

You know I love your videos your a natural talker. Guitarists are usually out there upfront aren’t they after all.

Anyway another great video as usual, always a pleasure to watch. Keep em coming. Have great one.

    Stephen Hawkins.

Thank you for the amazing feedback Stephen, I have decided to grant you something today… I’ll send you more details through email.
