Okay I have a fun youtube marketing challenge for you today.
This is a competition brought to you by Tyrone Shum.
He happens to be a very knowledgeable guy in both video marketing and the outsourcing area as well.
But as this article is all about video marketing with Youtube let’s just focus on that part so without any further ado let’s get this started!
What is the 5 Minute Youtube Marketing Challenge?
The prize is a Canon 600D camera (worth $700 USD) and I think it’s the T3i Rebel model.
I’m not 100% sure on it since I don’t own one but I do know they are the real deal!
How do You Participate on this Video Challenge?
It’s fairly simple to join the video challenge:
- On each week you’ll get an assignment that’ll teach you something
- Then you post your video result as a video response to their video
- And you’re all set, easy peasy!
How do You Win the Camera?
The youtube channel with the most views after six months gets the prize!
However you cannot buy viewers or subscribers in other words, DO NOT CHEAT and keep it real! ;-)
My Recommendation for You
I know Marketing With Sergio has a lot of readers (I can interpret stats!) but I also know you are all very busy people too.
For those that aren’t way too busy, I would recommend you to join me on this competition.
It’s not really about the prize, it’s about learning how to:
- get more views
- receive more comments
- and get more subscribers on our channels!
Your First Assignment
Tyrone Shum and Justin Teoh will be your hosts and here they’ll explain everything way better than me.
Remember, you need to post your video response on THEIR video and you can do so here.
Note: Watch their whole video so you get proper instructions on how to name your video too.
My Video Marketing Challenge Response
This was my video response and also the first one I have ever done.
So my first assignment: check!
Apparently this technique (video responses) is not widely used and it’s proven to drive awesome traffic IF you post your video responses to relevant videos of course.
If you are scared of video NOW is when you have the perfect excuse to get started.
Some people have told me in private that I have lots of experience doing videos and honestly, that’s far from the truth.
If you go to my youtube channel you can see on my first videos I couldn’t even talk without shaking or mumbling and it was so bad that I had to make a little challenge for myself so I could overcome my terror of being on video.
For this competition you don’t need to make a script or anything (you’re not making a movie) just let Tyrone and Justin know how many subscribers does your channel have and how many views, put that on a video response to their video and that’s it!
Don’t worry if your numbers are worse than mine, we are all video newbies here. ;-)
Hope this helps and what are you waiting for?
Go shoot that video already!
